What is Orbit?
Orbit is a Social Enterprise that supports young people to start, build and grow their own businesses whilst they are at school. Headquartered in Glasgow, Scotland, Orbit was founded by Kieran Aitken in 2015 and has chapters located in major cities around the world. At the time of writing our incubator programme has supported over 500 students – referred to as “Orbiteers” to develop the skills, networks and mindset required to build their own businesses and achieve success in their future endeavors.
The entrepreneurs of today supporting the entrepreneurs of tomorrow.
Entrepreneurs are the lifeblood of our economies and Orbit exists to give tomorrow’s entrepreneurs all the skills, networks and experience that they need to thrive and prosper in tomorrow’s world. We don’t intend to create a “conveyor belt” of entrepreneurs; instead we believe that entrepreneurial skills and behaviours are transferable and can be applied to any endeavour that our Orbiteers pursue in their future careers.
Orbit’s programmes are set up and managed by teams of entrepreneurs and business professionals that are passionate about the development of young people in their areas. 100% of our income is reinvested into our programme and our organisation isn’t run by shareholders. Our only reason for being is to see today’s entrepreneurs giving tomorrow’s entrepreneurs a head start.
Orbit was founded in 2015 and began as a small training programme for students in Glasgow. What began as an idea is now supporting hundreds of young entrepreneurs every year.
We’re proud as punch about the achievements of our Orbiteers. Our recent impact report highlights the results of our programme from 2015-2020.
Orbit is a non-profit social enterprise organisation with chapters located in major city centers. Find a chapter near you on our locations page.
